It doesn't matter if you arrived on a business visa, religious figure visa, hot air balloon, transatlantic boat from Europe, stitched into a car seat or by walking from Mexico: if you are able to approach a Canadian border official or police officer (who will call in Canadian immigration authorities), you are able to claim asylum. Even if that means almost drowning and being pulled out of the sea by Canadian coast guards
As for your reasons, it's not me who you have to prove your legitimacy to, but the Canadian government officials.
I am not a smuggler, I work with people in Romania who take your name and your birth certificate and add you onto an long-dead elderly woman's family tree to make you legible for citizenship. You arrive with a straight face, full of confidence, say the Romanian oath of citizenship (in Romanian) and "restore" your citizenship based on "your roots"
As there is literally no difference between you and any other (white) Romanian in the system, you cannot claim asylum in Canada unless you are able to prove that you are discriminated in Romania. There have been refugees from Romania in Canada, so you could say "I am Pakistani/Arab, my grandmother was Romanian, she came to Lahore/Riyadh in the 20s and met my grandfather. I recently tried to get Romanian citizenship and after doing so, I experienced a lot of discrimination at the hands of nazis".
The Canadian government isn't allowed to inform your home government of your refugee claim, nor are they allowed to verify your details. If, however, they do so and get a reply, the reply will be the story that my colleagues will stitch together for you.
